The alternative to X, the social media platform Koo, is now going to be closed. Indian microblogging platform Koo’s founder Parameya Radhakrishna and co-founder Mayak Bidawatka have given this information on Linkedin. Let us tell you that earlier the news of merger of Koo with other companies is coming to the fore. In such a situation, it is being shut down due to the lack of deal.
Talks did not work out on the merger
Koo’s founder Mayank Bidawatka wrote on social media that the talks about the partnership did not work out. Due to which Koo is shutting down its services. He did not get positive results regarding the partnership. He also told that Koo is being shut down due to high technology cost. Let us tell you that since last year, the platform had started reducing the workforce.
Koo App was an alternative to X
This platform started by winning a government challenge. It was started by Koo winning the ‘Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge’ of the Central Government in the year 2020. It was launched as an alternative to Twitter. Everyone from ministers to celebrities had accounts on Koo. At one point, the number of its active users had reached 21 lakhs.
