Made with a great star cast, expensive budget and a lot of time, this film proved to be a disaster at the box office.

This film was released with a lot of expectations. But people did not like the slow pace, story line and dialogues of the film. Also, Dharmendra was trolled a lot for the character of Yakut. The audience did not like this film, due to which people did not watch it.

इस फिल्म को ना देखने का एक और बड़ा कारण था इसमें दिखाए गए फीमेल के दो किसिंग सीन। जिसके चलते फैमिली वाले लोगों ने मूवी देखना अवॉयड किया। इन किसिंग सीन पर मौलवियों ने भी आपत्ति जताई थी। जिसके चलते एक वर्ग ने पहले ही फिल्म से दूरी बना ली।
फिल्म को बनाने के लिए निर्देशन कमाल अमरोही (Kamal Amrohi) ने कर्ज लिया था। फिल्म से होने वाले प्रोफिट के लिए कई लोगों को हिस्सेदार भी बनाया गया था। लेकिन फ्लॉप होने के कारण फिल्म को काफी नुकसान हुआ। इस फिल्म का सबसे बड़ा नुकसान कमाल अमरोही को हुआ। इसके बाद उनके निर्देशन में बनी फिल्म रिलीज नहीं हुई।
